THE IDIOSYNCRASIES OF WORK
21.2.02
Tuesday, I went in to work to check the time of my one and only shift of the week. A four hours shift, Saturday morning. OK, so I was set to have no money, and a lot of free time on my hands. Stuff was planned to fill those hours. I approached the service desk, a risky endeavour at the best of times, but this was more risky...the supervisor was present at the time of my decent into doom.
I swear she saw me coming and emptied the roster to screw up my week. Well at the end of last week, I was planning on the aforementioned four hours of work, at the supermarket anyway, other time or bluecrack web design. But know the proportions seem to have changed slightly. So from the four hours planned, I am now working a whopping [rare, so amazing] 26 hours. Now for an almost 21 year old casual check out chick, this is a big deal. I did not even get that many hours in the lead up to Christmas, and that is our busiest time of year, second only to Easter.
I am now working two full days and two smaller shifts. From four hours, about the small number of time I was complaining about, to two 9 hour shift and two 4 hour shifts. If even only for this week, this should be able to get me a pay packet of about $350 minus a bit of tax I think I forgot.
A fair bit of difference can be made with that money. All of it after board/rent to Mum, is going into the purchase of my business stationary. I think I should invest in some relatively decent stationary. Coloured even, to present that big business 'corporate/professional' feel. Hope people get suckered in by the stationary I get. Businesscards and Letterhead I think are the go first off. Then who knows.....suggestions are welcomed.
But I now must get my creative juices flowing a work out some possible designs. Headers and footers and logos are jumping up and down in my head, now I gotta go graba pen and scribble down some ideas.
