RESOLVE
27.4.02

An issue from my past has found formalised resolve today. Jason has been sentenced. As shown in the articles below [the front page of the local paper], he was sentenced to seven years jail, with a no parole period of 5 years

January 19th 2001 was one of the worst days of my life. I can remember the look of absolute horror on my mother’s face when she came to pick me up from work, before the end of my shift, to take me to the hospital to see my grandmother. That expression will be forever ingrained in my mind. I will not lose that look of shock, and anger.

15 months down the line I still feel the anger I suppose the rest of my family felt at the time of the attack. I don’t want to feel anger, and don’t want to wish harm on any other person, but in this case I am finding it hard to let go of the fact that this bastard hurt not only my grandmother but our entire family, and due to that fact none of us will ever be the same people that we were prior to that day.
